Seven years ago, he broke her heart. This time, the tables are turned!
Chelsea Schumacher always knew this day would come. Sooner or later, she would have to face Justin Jacobs, the guy who broke her heart when she was just seventeen years old. With his brother about to marry her best friend, that day is finally here. It’s been seven years since she last saw Justin, but time has done nothing to dull the pain of his rejection. If anything, the ache has grown worse. Determined not to let him have any power over her, and more determined not to ruin her best friend’s wedding, Chelsea makes her own vow. Things will be different this time. Or will they?
Damn Justin Jacobs and his sexy smile and masculine presence that filled the room, making a silent yet overpowering demand for attention. Much to Chelsea’s dismay, he had the indecency to age well. Instead of having wrinkles and gray hair and a beer belly, he looked just as he had seven years ago with one not so minor difference.
Justin had always been fit, but now he was downright muscular. As he wrapped and banded the mesh netting around one handful of candy after another, it was hard to miss the basketballs for biceps and forearms that would have made Popeye jealous. Not to mention his T-shirt was stretched so tight across his broad chest she expected it to rip from the simple act of his breathing.
As if all of that wasn’t bad enough, his blue eyes were so intense. The way they lit up with passion when he talked about his business stirred something more than lust in her. For the first time, she was impressed with him for a reason that went beyond being good-looking. Justin had to be intelligent to get a business like his off the ground, and he wasn’t content to sit back and leave it as is. Over the last couple of hours, with Shayla and Marcy prodding for more information, he had shared the vision he and Darren had for the future of their business.
With so much going for him, it was hard not to fall back into that trap of being obsessed with him.
