Book Blurb:

17 years ago, in the island village of Dentro, lived a large and powerful demon. With just a howl, mountains were obliterated. With the help of an outsider, the chief of Dentro destroyed the demon and sealed its dark power into three powerful ancient weapons: a spear, shield, and a sword. After leaving the unwelcoming village, the man who helped destroy the demon took the sword in an effort to keep it away from the village. Months later, a villager bore the son of the outsider, breaking one of the sacred village laws in doing so.

Born into a village filled with people who hated him, Zephyr grew up without knowing why they did. With no friends, and eventually no family with the passing of his mother, Zephyr was forced to survive by himself as an outcast. Zephyr’s only wish being to make his mother proud and force the village to recognize him while surviving in a world filled with demons, paranormal abilities, love, hate and undiscovered lands.

Where are you from? Tell us a little about yourself!

-I grew up in a multitude of places but I reside in southern California currently. I am the CEO of three different companies, a international charity, a student and an author. I am 19 years old and I love to play soccer and tennis whenever I get the chance, as well as read great fiction novels like Harry potter and Pendragon.

Tell us about your book? How did it get started?

-Well it depends on two things. I actually came up with the title back in middle school, when I was in 8th grade. Sadly, I never got beyond a chapter and went through most of high school without continuing it. But during my senior year I felt really inspired and wanted to write something that people could connect to, and so I came upon an old notebook with the title “zephyr the west wind” and my old story during the fall of my senior year of high school. Although I scrapped the old story, I kept the title and the rest is history.

How do you create your characters?

-Different characters have been created in different ways. Some have been based off people I have met throughout my life, while others have come directly from my imagination.

What inspires and what got you started in writing?

-My basic inspiration is life. I love everything is has to offer. History, music, people and events all inspire me, no matter how insignificant they may seem.

Where do you write? Is there something you need in order to write (music, drinks?)

-I love beautiful scenes in nature, especially when writing. I usually like laying on a grassy field in the middle of the summer with the stars shining above me as I write, or sitting on a couch with tea near a window so I can see some of the beauty the world has to over.

How do you get your ideas for writing?

– Sometimes ideas just pop into my head randomly, while other times I develop some from the experiences of life.

What do you like to read?

-I am a big fan of fantasy. I sometimes read books that explain subjects like economics, business, languages, etc, but I am only really passionate about fiction and fantasy stories. I love Harry Potter, Pendragon, Charlie Bone, and many other series.

What would your advice to be for authors or aspiring in regard to writing?

-Make sure to always have fun with your writing. If you ever really think of your writing as “work” and you are a fiction/fantasy author, then I would suggest taking a break and remembering what inspired you to write such a book in the first place, and where your passion went. Passion and drive are unstoppable when they go hand in hand, so make sure to never lose it either while writing your book(s).
