Hi All!

Thanks so much to Denisse for inviting me here! My name is Lisa Dale, and today I’d like to give away a FREE copy of my book SIMPLE WISHES.

Spring is a time of new beginnings for me. While the rest of the world seems to make their resolutions in January, I tend not to get serious about making self-improvement commitments until April or May. T.S. Eliot said, “April is the cruelest” month. And I’m certain he was talking about allergies. But I love the challenge of spring (allegories aside).

In my story, SIMPLE WISHES, the heroine Adele’s main challenge is getting the person she thinks she is on track with the person she really is. Now, there’s a spring self-improvement project. Here’s the scoop on the story: Adele makes a mistake forces her to leave her NYC apartment and return to the mountain cottage she inherited from her estranged mother. There, the complex relationships she develops with a troubled teenager, an elderly Korean grandmother, and the sexy carpenter-next-door cause her to rethink her life and her desires. Just when true love is within reach, dark secrets from her mother’s past threaten to send her running away again.

I was asked recently if I’d call SIMPLE WISHES a “sweet” book. I prefer to call it “warm” instead of “sweet.” When I set out to write the book, I wanted to offer readers a love story that was complex, intelligent, and emotional. The characters in it are very real—they are all on a journey to better understanding themselves. And along the way, the things they think are mistakes are the best things that could happen to them, while what they think are steps in the right direction sometimes appear to be three steps back.

I really do believe that happily-ever-after can happen in even the most challenging real-life situations, and SIMPLE WISHES reflects that. If you want to check out some of my reviews, you can click here: http://lisadalebooks.com/books/simple-wishes/simple-wishes-reviews.

In the meantime, I’d love to give away a copy of the book! Tell me what your goal is this spring (mine is to lose three pounds—lame, I know). Or just drop a note and say hi. I’ll give away a copy of SIMPLE WISHES to one reader who leaves a comment. Just be sure to check back tomorrow to see if you won!

Best wishes,

Lisa Dale

Hi Lisa! The book sounds lovely, I’d be thriled to win a copy!

This will sound quite silly, but my goal for Spring is so make friends with my pet python!

My partner and I have had him for a while but he isn’t keen on being handled. We’re trying to get to know him
🙂

Your book sounds wonderful!

Like you April =allergies for me…ugh!

I do make my resolutions in January, but I tend to ignore them until spring when I realize I’ve wasted about 1/3 of my year procrastinating, lol.

Ms. Bookish

I’d love to be entered to win a copy! My goal this spring? A “finished” house!

Hi Lisa!

You are most welcome for coming on the blog! Thank you for answering the call. This spring I would have to say is getting all my work and things organized to further move onto to working on my writing.

@ Jasmine, Wow. That is an interesting goal!

@ Eliza, I’d never thought of it that way! 1/3 of a year gone, etc. Maybe I should rethink making January commitments…

@ Ms. B., great name, thanks for commenting!

@ Denisse, my pleasure. 🙂
