Review: Accept My Love: Sasha by Marie Rocheslle

Sasha is in love with her boss, Sterling. He’s also in love with her, but because of the Boss/employee relationship, neither has acted on their love. The both work for a store that sells bedding, & Sasha is employed in the most unlikely of areas—she is a spokesperson & model in a short black and white maid’s outfit. I have no idea why Rochelle would choose one of the most beleaguered of retail areas for her story. Knowing how many retail furniture & bedding stores are going broke in these days of a plummeting housing industry, I found the entire premise hard to swallow. However, if you overlook the kind of business they are in, and the chauvinistic costume Sasha is forced to wear, it’s not a bad story. Sasha & her sisters are also involved in a business that is a spa catering to the rich. They take turns working at the spa, & working elsewhere, so they can plow their earnings back into the business. Doesn’t sound like a sound business plan to me. The love story is better than the background information, but it could benefit from a better story line. I also didn’t like the huge back story dumps and the lack of dialog. Authors are always told “Show, don’t just tell.” So if Rochelle keeps writing, those are your tips for the week.

Book Blurb:

Enough was Enough!

Sasha Williams was tired of dreaming about having a future with her gorgeous and single boss…Sterling Hamilton. He wasn’t interested in the same things as her…not in the least. She wanted romance and candlelight dinners while he wanted her to work late at his family owned business.

He was taking her for granted and she was tired of it.

As soon as the new promotional campaign was over for Sleep Softly Bedding and Mattress.

Sasha was turning in her letter of resignation and there was nothing Sterling could do to make her stay… or was there?

“Sasha, I want you to know that I liked what happened between us in your office. Honestly, I hated that your sister barged in on us. I’ve been waiting for such a long time to kiss you.”

Sasha sucked in a quick sharp breath. She was amazed at the thrill Sterling’s confession gave to her. His personality was such an ever-changing mystery. She honestly didn’t know what he was going to do from one moment to the next.

“You’ve never acted like you wanted to kiss me before,” she tossed out there wanting to get a reaction from Sterling.

Leaning back in his seat, Sterling eyed her for a few minutes before answering her question. “Sasha, I’ve wanted you since the first time I laid eyes on you, but you never seemed to pay any attention to me. I tried a couple of times to ask you out on dates, but you found ways to change the subject.”
