If you’re looking for that new fairytale twist then look no further to Simone’s A Perfect Fit. I really enjoyed this story and the author really makes you feel for Rowyn’s tragic story. Then we have handsome Darius who comes to sweep her off her feet and help her achieve the woman she was meant to be. One of my favorite parts of this read were the great quotes at the beginning of each chapter, it really entertains you. The read is a great one and if you are looking for that great love story with a dash of hot romance then you are in for a treat! Be sure to read this book and many by this author as she certainly have you wanting to be believe in your own happily ever after.

Cinderella, eat your heart out.

Once upon a time, there was a young woman of beauty, grace, and good nature…

Blah. Blah. Blah.

Rowyn Jeong knows her no-nonsense, less than warm personality cannot compare to her stepsister Cindy’s bubbly charm and beauty. Hey, everyone has their niche, right? But being the plainer, wicked stepsister has never bothered her more than when Darius Fiore reappears in her life. Darius Fiore, the man she indulged in a one-night stand with six months ago, the businessman threatening her position within her stepfather’s company, and the man her sister has her eyes—and hands—on.

Rowyn has never forgotten the man who allowed her to be someone else for a few sex-filled hours. Now that Darius has turned up in her territory, will he see past the hard exterior to the woman beneath, the one hungry for love and acceptance?

The Interview

Where are you from? Tell us a little about yourself!

I guess you may have guessed by now that I am not the daughter of a sharecropper as my biography on my website suggests…what gave me away?? But the part about being the daughter of a pastor is true! A pastor who gets a kick out of his daughter writing romance! I’m a northern transplant to the south, a wife and mother. Celebrating eleven years this month…man, it’s like the longest relationship I’ve ever had outside of Symphony chocolate bars…wow. My favorite book is Son of the Morning by Linda Howard. My favorite movies are Grease and Dirty Dancing. By the way, I am sooo not going to see the remake. Some movies are classics, cannot be recreated and just left alone! I mean, really, who can play Johnny Castle other than Patrick Swayze?? It borders on sacrilegious! Sorry. Tangent. So, getting back. I love fairy calendars, visiting Gatlinburg, TN every year and can’t go a week without egg foo yung. Oh! And Vin Diesel is in love with me, he just can’t make it public because of baby mama drama ‘n all… Yeah, that’s about it.

Tell us about your book? How did it get started?

Painfully! LOL! My recent release is A Perfect Fit, the second book in the Fairy Tales Unleashed series. It’s a short book but it hurt! But it was so worth it. I was actually forty-two pages in when I stopped, read it over and scrapped everything but the first four pages. I think I may have cried while I moved them to the Deep Six folder. LOL! But an idea came to me in the midst of my tears. What if the wicked stepsister was the misunderstood, soft-hearted heroine and Cinderella was the real bi—uh, wench? My heart started beating, the blood started pumping and I get short of breath! And The Fast and the Furious wasn’t even on TV!

How do you create your characters?

I know it may seem cliché-ish but when I say they create themselves, I mean it. The idea for a character can come from Dr. Phil to a song playing on the radio to Storage Wars. The seed is planted but they evolve, deepen and become alive as the plot develops. I’m a plotter, but even as I write the story, their history and motivation can take a sharp left from what I planned. It’s one of the coolest things about writing, actually. Seeing a character that started out with a name and occupation become 3-D. See them become people you would care about or loathe with equal passion. People you can’t forget even after you finish the book. It’s amazing!

What inspires you to write?

Shoot, if I waited for inspiration, writing would be hit ‘n miss! It’s about putting your butt in the chair and doing it. What drives me is realizing the completion of another dream. A book, for me, starts with a dream, like a motion picture. And seeing the whole thing completed, having that happily-ever-after for characters—who by then are my friends!—is one of the best accomplishments and feelings in this world. And just imagine. I can have it over and over again. Also, and what trumps even the dream, is giving someone else that feeling I experienced after I saw Dirty Dancing for the first time. If I can inspire that wonder and joy in a reader, shoot! Who wouldn’t write?

What do you like to read?

I just love romance! Any genre, doesn’t matter! As far as authors, Nalini Singh, Lora Leigh, Lena Matthews, Christine Feehan, Lisa Gardner, Debra Glass and Nicole Jordan. I love Jessica Lee, too! I get to read her books for free since she’s my critique partner! LOL!

What would your advice be for authors or aspiring in regards to writing?

Something I know they’ve heard before, and honestly, are probably tired of hearing. Because God knows I was tired of hearing it. But never give up. Don’t stop writing. I tell myself that now. With every book I learn more about the editing process, which in turn teaches me more about writing. With every story how I write, how I develop the plot and my characters gets better. Another piece of advice would be accept that you are a professional student! Never stop taking workshops and classes or going to programs offered on writing. You never stop learning. There is always something you can improve on or gain more knowledge about. My local RWA chapter offers a variety of programs from the mechanics of bookselling to plotting to police procedures.  All are geared toward equipping me with the tools for being a better professional author and skilled writer. The challenge is applying it! LOL!

Anything else you’d like to share?

Why yes! Thank you for the perfect segue into pimping my newest release! You’re good! LOL! Below is the blurb, excerpt and book trailer for A Perfect Fit: Fairy Tales Unleashed, Book 2 available from Breathless Press!

Excerpt:

Oh. Damn.

The gasp was trapped in her throat, and the world screeched to a halt as if God had slammed his foot on the brakes of time. She sucked in a breath—a difficult task, since all the air seemed to have been vacuumed out of the room. Perspiration prickled her palms, and if she could have moved, she would have rubbed them against her skirt.

It can’t be. She stared, her heart performing a dizzying tap dance against her rib cage. It’s not possible.

Yet meeting the bright blue eyes that had haunted her dreams for the past six months, Rowyn couldn’t deny what her gaze refused to accept.

Him.

She’d convinced herself he couldn’t have possibly been as beautiful in reality as he’d appeared in her dreams. After all, when a man gave a woman the most intense, just-this-side-of-death orgasms she’d ever experienced, she could be forgiven for imagining him larger than life. But no, as he stood mere feet away, staring at her with his impenetrable gaze, Rowyn realized her dreams hadn’t been exaggerations.

The same deep cobalt eyes that reminded her of the heart of the ocean. The same olive-tinted skin that reminded her of Italian villas perched on craggy cliffs and romantic beaches. The same beauty that, if he’d been born centuries earlier, would have had Michelangelo drooling to sculpt him for his David. His dark brown, closely-cropped curls enhanced the image of a Greco-Roman work of art. And Jesus, the body—she shivered. Tall, elegant, and hinting of an almost primitive power that existed under the civilized black jacket, slacks, and maroon shirt.

She’d been on the receiving end of that power, unleashed and wild.

The intense stare held her immobile and might as well have been a length of steel chains wrapped around her body. She couldn’t move, couldn’t avoid the hard questions in his penetrating gaze.

Unbidden, a memory of the last time she’d been with him flared in her mind. Just the thought of that night could make her nipples tingle and her sex clench. There were nights she still woke from erotic Technicolor dreams, body trembling and breath rasping out of her throat. Dreams of a face hardened with lust, gleaming blue eyes, and a big, muscled body sliding on top of hers, thrusting deep in her pussy. Stretching and filling her…

Rowyn shivered. Damn. All this time later, and an emptiness lingered, a hollow emptiness that could only be filled by a man she believed she’d never see again—the man not five feet away.

“Rowyn,” Pamela drawled, snatching her from the stupor she’d tumbled into. “How nice of you to show up. Late.”

The barb might as well have been a rubber ball, for it bounced right off of Rowyn. Her mind felt like it had been wrapped in yards of bubble wrap. What was Darius doing here? In Boston?
