What I liked:
Wow. The build-up in this book is phe-nom-enal. I found myself actually holding my breath several times, waiting for the build-up to end, thinking it would, and it didn’t. Excellent. The first few pages frustrated me a bit. It could be because I’m used to the Ellora’s Cave stories that move along a little more quickly. But I thought the first couple of pages with the meet-cute were slow. It picked up after that, though. The character development was really good, and I felt really connected to both major characters. This is a very hot story. The By Honor Bound trilogy is a good 2 out of 3 so far. Unlike the one I previously reviewed, there isn’t any “action” to get in the way of the action. (i.e. there’s no war to get in the way of the sex.) If that’s your style, definitely check this out.

Book Blurb

He’s got the military command…
Army Special Forces Major Blayne Forbes has always desired Jemma Teagan, but knows she’s off limits for a casual relationship. The last thing he wants is involvement with a forever kind of woman.
Jemma’s desire for the diamond-in-the-rough soldier has never faded, and when he tumbles into her arms, the tough guy sends her heart rate into orbit. She doesn’t want to love a man destined for danger, until he challenges her with a display of hardware she can’t resist.
Publisher’s Note: Originally published in the By Honor Bound anthology.

I just got a wild hair and re-read part of this book. I reaffirm the four stars, yet again. Really, a very nice read.
