This blog was created by Denise in September 2008 to blog about writing, book reviews, and technology. Slowly, but surely this blog expanded to what it has become now, a central for book reviews of all kinds interviews, contests, and of course promotional venue for authors, etc

The Perfect Match by Higgins is the second in her Heron series. This story surrounds our heroine, Honor. Honor is 35 five years old and feels like her time is running out. She also seems to be falling for the guy who is in her occasional hook up. As you will figure out as you read, he’s not the one for her and really isn’t as great as I thought her was. Honor also finds herself in situations were it’s not ideal and the person that she claims is her best friend then becomes engaged to the man she liked! Feeling like the world is against her, Honor meets Tom, a British professor whose visa is about to expire. Even worse is that his stepson will be left with unsavory grandparents. So what’s Tom to do but ask Honor to do a marriage of convenience. Honor agrees and with some time, both will come to the conclusion that they have more feelings than they started off with. I really enjoyed reading the second in the series and it had a great cast of characters. I wasn’t too sure about Tom as he really took his time to admit his feelings to Honor. Honor’s friends weren’t really that friendly as they obviously had more going on between them especially with the guy Honor liked, Brogan. Those who love romance with that happy ending, will enjoy this read!

Book Blurb:

What if the perfect match is a perfect surprise?

Honor Holland has just been unceremoniously rejected by her lifelong crush. And now—a mere three weeks later—Mr. Perfect is engaged to her best friend. But resilient, reliable Honor is going to pick herself up, dust herself off and get back out there…or she would if dating in Manningsport, New York, population 715, wasn’t easier said than done.

Charming, handsome British professor Tom Barlow just wants to do right by his unofficial stepson, Charlie, but his visa is about to expire. Now Tom must either get a green card or leave the States—and leave Charlie behind.

In a moment of impulsiveness, Honor agrees to help Tom with a marriage of convenience—and make her ex jealous in the process. But juggling a fiancé, hiding out from her former best friend and managing her job at the family vineyard isn’t easy. And as sparks start to fly between Honor and Tom, they might discover that their pretend relationship is far too perfect to be anything but true love….
