Review: Treacherous Temptations by Victoria Vane

Vane’s Treacherous Temptations takes us back into the Georgian era. Vane has become one of my favorite historical romance authors because of her deeply written scenes with extraordinary characters. Vane brings back the erotic in this novel and will have you turning the page at the intrigue and the evil scheming in this one. It follows two important characters, Hadley and Mary. Hadley’s character is very intriguing and both very sad. We find many things that has made poor Hadley’s character rather saddened due to his wicked stepmother. I think this is the book that Vane really dives deep into her characters because Hadley’s character is complex and very redeeming. Treacherous Temptations dives deep into gay/lesbian romance, but Vane is a skilled author to leave those scenes out implying them. Despite the character’s flaws, we do find very redeeming qualities in Hadley and his love for Mary. All in all Vane proves that love is what will win and that there are those seeking the ruin of others. She also believes that even the deepest darkest character, can be redeemable. Those who love erotic historical romance with detailed, complex characters will sure to enjoy the series by Victoria Vane.
