Will-

The note has me laughing. It’s written in Monique’s handwriting, and I can’t even imagine why she—
I look back down at the napkin and grin. So this is Monique’s wise idea to get Brandy to notice me? I now have a secret admirer? Am I supposed to leave these little notes around the house?
I can hear Brandy moving around her room. I look at the note again, and consider it.
Instead of taking my coffee mug with me, I set it on the note. She’ll notice that I forgot my coffee, and maybe she’ll see the writing on the napkin. Well, I have nothing to lose with Monique’s little game. Grabbing my messenger bag, I hike it up onto my shoulder and head out to work. As is the norm, my phone rings as I’m leaving my office and heading to lunch.
“So now you’re my secret admirer?” I ask as I answer the phone, knowing Monique is on the other end.
Her laugh filters through and brings me a bit of warmth as I step outside in the cold.
“Why, Will, I have no idea what you’re talking about,” she says on another laugh.

Where are you from? Tell us a little about yourself!
I’m a Colorado native. I’ve been married to my college sweetheart for nearly thirty-one years, and we have 5 amazing kids. My current title is my 56th. I am the owner of 5 Prince Publishing. I am also a 3rd degree black belt in Tang Soo Do, as well as a certified instructor, and a Disney park addict.
Tell us about your book? How did it get started?
Secret Admirer Pact is a friends to lovers tale. When Wil and Monique decide to write secret admirer notes to one another to get the attention of those they are interested in, they realize that they actually have feelings for one another.
This book is one of the Valentine’s novellas being put out by my publishing company, and is a feel good book for the holiday.
What inspires and what got you started in writing?
Everything inspires me to write, and I’m grateful for that. People are interesting, and everyone is a character.
I started writing in junior high school, which consequently was when I started reading. Stories written by others inspired my creativity through mimicking what I was reading. It didn’t take long before I was creating my own stories and characters. It’s been an obsession ever since.
Where do you write? Is there something you need in order to write (music, drinks?)
I write anywhere, any time. I am lucky to be able to write in any kind of atmosphere, and not need to be locked in place or have peace and quiet. This was a blessing when my 5 kids were home, playing hockey, and many of my books were written in cold hockey rinks.
What do you like to read?
I love to read contemporary romances. Falling in love over and over again is my jam!
What would your advice to be for authors or aspiring in regards to writing?
My first piece of advice for an aspiring author would be to get involved in a writing organization. Writing organizations not only offer education for authors at all levels of their journey, but also offer comradery among their members. Getting to know others who are going through the same thing you are is imperative for your success. Not only will you get a great education that will help lead you to your goals, you will also create your own community.
