When Darkness looms, the world finds its hero…

In “The Witches Prophecy,” Trouble Ferell, a renowned assassin, yearns for normalcy and acceptance. However, her world turns upside down when she discovers her involvement in an ancient prophecy and unlocks her long-dormant magical abilities. Doubt and uncertainty fill her mind as she grapples with her newfound identity and the visitations of a powerful deity.

Interview:

Where are you from? Tell us a little about yourself!

My family is from Louisiana. I grew up there and in Georgia. I was born on an air force base in Oklahoma. I am a mother of two––a boy and girl. I have a cat name Persephone. I love history, learning just about everything and teaching myself what I do not know. I like creating for fun, painting and writing in my downtime.

Tell us about your book? How did it get started?

The Witches Prophecy started as a thriller. It was a pretty complicated story and I had no idea what the heck I was doing. So I regrouped within a year and re-envisioned it as a fantasy. I have always loved the genre and I especially love witches. I kept the love story the same and just added more interesting connecting events.

How do you create your characters?
I came up with the lead characters a long time ago. Back in my teens. I knew I wanted a strong female based on myself and one based on my boyfriend at the time. My first relationship was interracial so I made theirs too. Trouble needed a best friend and so I created Digits. I made her Russian for fun. This was long before the issues with Russia. Last was Zander. I knew I wanted to make him different from the others and since I like K-pop I made him Korean.

What inspires and what got you started in writing?
Life inspires me. People watching inspires me. My kids. Everything and everyone has a story to tell. Most don’t know it. I used to write spicy love scenes in High School for my classmates. That’s how I got started. I used to write poetry when I was in puberty.

Where do you write? Is there something you need in order to write (music, drinks?)
Usually at a desk. I don’t really listen to music when I write. I usually listen to people talking. Like I’ll listen to tarot readings or space stuff. I have to work every part of my brain as I write.

How do you get your ideas for writing?
Usually I go to my bank of ideas for that! I try to challenge myself sometimes. I’ll read a book, complain and then try to write a better version lol

What do you like to read?
I read everything. Even stuff meant for younger people or whatever. I read everything. I love reading quirky types of romance. I got a lot of different types from critiquing other people work. I learned not to be afraid of reading different genres.

What would your advice to be for authors or aspiring in regard to writing?
Be fearless. A lot of people want to go the traditional route, which is fine, it wasn’t for me for several reasons. I did try… badly. But I was fearless. I threw myself into it, like I do with everything. You have to go with gusto. It’s the sweet sauce of life.

Anything else you’d like to share?

I’ve written a new series that is a bit different. It’s called a serial series. It is a series of shorter books in a series. It’s called The Lunar Prophecy Series. The first and second book are out, and I am working on the third. There will be another giveaway for the series after every release with proof of purchase. I will also randomly choose a mega fan winner at the end of the series.
