Card & Mind Games

Card & Mind games

Tis the season for stress and trying to find ways to destress from everything going on in your life and the holidays combined. Some of the ways that I like to destress is by playing fun, interactive online games. They really do help relax me when things get a bit hectic. Plus, it’s always good to give yourself a break and still do something that will help ease your mind.

Did you know that playing games is a stress reliever? According to Healthy Gamer, “Games help enter the flow state by engaging their brain to such a degree that other thoughts don’t arise, and they can relax by playing the game.”

Video games reduce stress in the following ways:

  • Video games are engaging and enjoyable, which reduces stress.
  • Gaming results in dopamine secretion, which makes you feel good.
  • Video games present a challenge and reward you for overcoming it, which leads to feelings of competence.
  • Gaming can create a flow state, which is similar to meditation.

There are many places online that have online games, but do they have a variety of games? I like to find games that are fun and also simulate the mind. The holidays can be hard and online games are great to get away from the everyday stresses of a job and of course other things that may be going on. Call me old school but I love to play solitaire. I played it in real card form growing up, but when it became an online game, it was a classic and fun game to go back to. One of my favorite places to play online games is https://www.solitaire.org/solitaire-games/. The website carries a variety of solitaire games, but they do carry a variety of other games such as matching games, hidden objects, word games, and more!

So why solitaire? Solitaire is one of the very rare games that can be played satisfactorily by a single person. Solitaire is also easy to play once the rules have been understood. People get put off by complicated games. The simplicity of the game makes Solitaire so popular. Solitaire is also an easy access game, and most companies allow it on their computers.

On that note, one of my favorite games is that of the classic game of Klondike where it’s just a simple solitaire card game and easy to play. The first objective is to release and play into position certain cards to build up each foundation, in sequence and in suit, from the ace through the king. The ultimate objective is to build the whole pack onto the foundations, and if that can be done, the Solitaire game is won. To start playing, all you have to do is go to the website, click on the game of solitaire you’d like to play and instantly you’re playing! It’s hours of endless fun.

One of my other favorite games on this site is a matching game called Candy house. Candy house is a colorful matching tile game. I find it soothing when I just want something simple to play instead of a card game. It’s great thing about online games is that you can choose the one that fits your mood. So visit Solitaire.org and enjoy fun games!
